Rotary Club of Rajdhani, Nepal handed over Phacoemulsification with Vitrectomy Machine to Prof. Dr. Sagun Joshi, Executive Director- BP Koirala Lions Centre for Ophthalmic Studies (BPKLCOS) a Global Grant Project (GG NO. 2236399) valuing ~USD 48K supported by The Rotary Foundation under Area of Focus: Disease Prevention and Treatment. The project was initiated by RC Rajdhani (RID 3292) with the support of International partner RC Delhi Ashoka (RID 3012) with PP Pradeep Shrestha was the first person in contact with this project. District Governor Jitendra B Rajbhandary graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and RRFC PDG Basu Dev Golyan as the Guest of Honor. PDG Tirtha Sakya, ARRFC PDG Sanjay Giri, DGN Rajendra Man Sherchan, District Secretary Amit Giri, PDG Lion Gautam Man Shrestha, RID 3292 district officials along with Past President and esteemed members of Rotary Club of Rajdhani, Nepal and the staffs of BPKLCOS were present in the program.
This machine will help with the procedure of breaking up and removal of lenses of the eye that have cataracts.
